The Sex Pistols were one album and a lot of packaging, I've never regarded them as an actual real band - the album and their few performances were a moment in time but not an actual phenomena or experience. The album was an irreverant statement and it set a high water mark for irreverent statements but it wasn't anything more than that. Not that it wasn't fun to listen to.
